i want to go to the seaside

We've had a busy week with visitors, The Queen last week and this week the Obamas..minus their babies. Lovely stuff altogether.

The Queen called into the English Market in Cork during her visit. Its only up the road so it was cool to think she was chilling there for the afternoon..well maybe a half hour..but it still counts. Cork was looking lovely on TV,and the crowd seemed pleasant and welcoming, just how it should be with the onward and upwards attitude for the oldschool Irish/ English animosity. I was proud. On my travels that afternoon I passed a bunch of GardaĆ out on the road to the airport sitting on the grass having rolls. gas altogether.

' I've come home to find the apostrophe we lost somewhere along the way'

What a lol.. during the famine in the 1880s when Irish peeps were forced to convert from Catholicism for food they had to drop the O's in their surnames..as in.. O' Brien, O' Connor and the likes, people often  refer to it as having 'taken the soup.' Fair play to Obama for having been so on the ball with the lighthearted humour..I fear a few peeps in the crowd hadn't a notion what he was talking about..but it wasn't wasted, don't worry O.
